Buyer inquiry was light to moderate. Some producers continue to struggle with getting decent to top quality hay put up this summer as heavy dews, low winds and several cloudy days have become normal. Most days it is afternoon before dew is gone from mowed forages. This has made haying difficult along with other road blocks thrown out by good ole Mother Nature. Some producers in the East and Central part of the state are starting 3rd cutting alfalfa with others still on second cutting. Native prairie hay producers have been getting some areas baled that were missed last year and some still having a hard time getting hay mowed and baled. However, tonnage has been good on fields that are baled.
