HOLDREGE —With her limit- less enthusiasm and vast gifts as a performer and entertainer, Amer- ican violinist Lindsay Deutsch has emerged as a charismatic and captivating presence on today’s music scene. Described by the L.A. Times as having “the technical equipment and temperament for a big career,” she has thrilled audiences through- out the U.S. and Canada with her passion for music and brilliant display of technique and musi- cianship. Selected by Symphony and Strad magazines as an “Up and Coming Young Musician.” Deutsch has become a sought-af- ter soloist and entertainer. Deutsch will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at The Tassell in Holdrege as part of The Tassel’s Performance Season. Maestro Jung-Ho Pak, conductor and artistic director of the Cape Symphony Orchestra, says of Deutsch: “A conductor dreams about finding a soloist who understands the essential responsibility of helping change a large community’s view of classical music. In a time when every concert has to be unforgettable and a game changer, Lindsay can make that happen every time.” Deutsch has gained significant attention with classical music pre- senters as well as with local clubs, theaters and pop music series. The native of Houston targets the most recent generations of Americans who have not grown up with an appreciation for, or knowledge of classical music. With a mixture of classical and crossover, dressed down and performed in a familiar setting — such as a bar, restaurant, club, or outdoor venue, Deutsch is paving the way for today’s artists to reach a whole new generation of audience members. Deutsch made her solo orches- tral debut at the age of 11. In 2018 she toured with Yanni during his “Yanni 25 – Live At The Acropolis Anniversary Concert Tour.” She bridges the worlds of popular and classic aspects of music by playing her own unique arrange- ments of pop, jazz, folk and rock. Deutsch’s down-to-earth and humorous conversation, in addition to her amazing musical abilities, results in an performances of virtu- osity, groove, elegance and energy. Deutsch frequently appears as guest soloist with American and Canadian symphonies. Recent orchestral engagements include the Colorado, Fort Worth, Mis- soula, New West, Las Cruces, Pen- sacola, Irving, Cape, Knoxville, South Carolina, West Virginia symphonies as well as the Los Angeles, McGill, Portland and Boulder chamber orchestras. A murder, brutal and bloodthirsty, has stained the plush carpets of a handsome London townhouse. The victim is the glamorous and enormously rich Emily French. All the evidence points to Leonard Vole, a young chancer to whom the heiress left her vast fortune and who ruthlessly took her life. At least, this is the story that Emily’s dedicated housekeeper Janet Mackenzie stands by in court. Leonard however, is adamant that his wife, the enigmatic Romaine, can prove his innocence. When Romaine agrees to testify, she does so not in Leonard’s defense, but as a witness for the prosecution. Suitable for mature audiences.
