Gilmore Schmidt
Former Kearney resident, 70

ARVADA, Colo. — Gilmore L. Schmidt, 70, of Arvada, formerly of Grand Island, Neb., and Kearney, Neb., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. North Sherrill officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 11, 1934, in Poole, Neb., to Ferd and Clara (Heider) Schmidt.

On July 31, 1955, he married Marjory Sadd.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Randy, Ronny and Toby, all of Lincoln, Neb.; daughter, Tamra Smith of Westminster, Colo.; sister, Wauneta Bliven of Fremont, Neb.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Vernon Nelson, 93, of Holdrege: at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
Rosella Stone, 83, of Elm Creek: at 10:30 a.m. at O’Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney.
