Rosella Stone KEARNEY — Rosella Stone, 83, of Elm Creek died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Mount Carmel Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at O’Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officiating. Burial will be at Elm Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at O’Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Elm Creek and one hour before service time Monday at the funeral home in Kearney. She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Amherst to George and Emma (Lindner) Taubenheim. On Feb. 7, 1942, she married Lee Stone in Chadron. He died Oct. 1, 1977. Survivors include her sons, Donald and Leland, both of Elm Creek, and Lyle of Wilmington, Ohio; sisters, Arleen Clark, Lavon Day and Ruby Kenney, all of Amherst; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Don and Barb Smith. Additional survivors include her daughters-in-law, Nancy of Elm Creek and Cheryl of Wilmington; and the Smith family. She lived in the Amherst area and received her high school diploma from Amherst Public School. She and her husband farmed in the Amherst and Elm Creek area. She was a member of the As U R Club in Elm Creek and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Sharon; one grandson; one great-grandson; and sisters, Mildred LeBar and Viola Eifert.
