I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the citizens of your town.
We stopped for lunch as we were passing through Kearney on the way to Colorado on Feb. 11. My son, who is a U.S. Army soldier, was with us, as we were taking him to his new base. He was in uniform.
At the Arby’s, a young man purchased his lunch for him, without our knowledge, and left before my son could thank him. The people in the restaurant were thanking him for serving.
He is not used to this type of greeting. Usually people turn away and in a few cases spit at him.
The generosity of your citizens made a lasting impression on all of us. We thank you for supporting our troops.
