LINCOLN — The Kearney High girls basketball team (11-10) jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game and rolled to a 41-33 win over Lincoln High (5-14).
Melissa Tinkham led eight Bearcats that scored with 19 points. Danielle Fehringer also chipped in six points for Kearney. Lerrin Currie added four points. KHS won its second straight game to move over the .500 mark for the first time since Feb. 1.
Jessica Dobbins and Raven Adams powered Lincoln High with 12 points apiece.
Kearney finishes the regular season 11-10 and will play North Platte (17-3) in the first round of the Class A-6 District Tournament at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Hastings.
